Lasers and spectroscopy room
This room is dedicated to systems for spectroscopy and those that use lasers.
The room holds:
- a fluorescence system to evaluate sample pressure using the ruby R1 line,
- a home-made Raman system,
- various interferometry spectrometers.
The room also holds laser-machining system used for the preparation of diamond anvil cell experiments. Those experiments require drilling holes down do 50 μm in diameter. The samples, themselves, are 10 to 30 μm in diameter. Preparing those objects by hand is extraordinarily lengthy and difficult.
