Extreme conditions experiments in Lille
Multi-anvil press
Multi-anvil press
Our multi-anvil press includes a 1000 tons main hydraulic ram and allows compressing millimeter-size samples up to pressures ranging between 1 and 25 GPa and temperatures up to 2200°C.
Pressure is applied on a "module" in which we add a sample assembly made of ceramics, with the sample at the very center. These experiments offer very stable conditions of pressure and temperature, up to several days, with limited pressure or temperature gradients.
The press frame was built in France by the Société Savoisienne de Vérins Hydrauliques. The Walker-type pressure module and heating power supplies were provided by Voggenreiter, in Germany.
